leather at it's best
TERA is a aniline leather which has the benefit of a light protection coating. Its affordable price makes it appealing as it offers interesting characteristics of softness, durability and specially easy maintenance. An excellent choice for family usage.
TORELLO is a full grain leather, semi-aniline.This leather is particularly thick, from 1.3 to 1.5mm. The surface is grained and will show all the natural characteristics of the hide.The affordable price, durability and easy maintenance makes it an excellent choice.
STERLING is an italian full grain leather. This leather reveals the natural characteristics of the animal. The bi-color effect gives this leather a bold look. A variation in texture, grain and color is to be expected. Keep in mind, this is a natural leather therefore it is more susceptible to discoloration from everyday use, rubbing and natural hair and body oil.
MUSTANG is a italian full grain leather with a light bi-colour finish. Designed to retain it's natural aspect, it displays a variation in texture. Robust and easy to maintain. Offered in warm brown, makes any room cozy and intimate.
The BOVIN leather (cancelled) is a natural leather that emphasizes all the natural characteristics of the animal. Scars, stretch marks, insect bites, variation of grain and color are all visible and completely normal for this type of leather.
During the dye process, a light coat of wax is applied to the hide to conserve these natural marks, however this addition makes the hide more sensitive to sebum and the natural oils in our body and to friction.
You will also notice a discoloration at the edges, seams and places most stressed by use. This will give your furniture an old-fashioned appearance. This process can happen gradually or rapidly depending on the type of seams you have and is completely normal.
It is important to choose the style of furniture according to the leather.

The natural leather products are processed without changing the original characteristics of the hides. The presence of healed scars, difference in grain, wrinkles, veining, difference in colours shades and any trace that nature has left on these hides, is proof that they are absolutely genuine and bears withness to their great worth.
Leather furniture can last a lifetime when properly used and maintained. It ages beautifully with a minimum care: regular dustings, a light cleaning with a humid cloth and a very soft soap (The whole area where a stain is located has to be cleaned, such as a whole armrest, pillow, etc.), or a quick sponging of any spilled liquid.
Strong soaps, detergents, domestic cleaners, as well as any greasy or oily cleaning product, are not recommended.
Professional assistance is recommended for the important stains. Leather furniture should not be placed in full sunlight nor close to an intense heating source.Please see CARE AND CLEANING

COMFORT AND APPEARANCE
It is perfectly normal for there to be a difference in the comfort upon delivery of your sofa. The foam and/or dacron pillows will seem firmer. We use a high density foam, the highest offered on the market, in order to last you many years of usage. It could take several weeks for your foam to lose a bit of its compression and obtain the comfort you were expecting. The foam will then retain this compression for you absolute comfort.
SECTIONALS
Your sectional and/or sofa may composed of separate sections, some recliner, some fixed. When a fixed seat is placed next to a reclining seat:
• The outside back of the recliner seat will have a horizontal gap to allow the movement of the mechanism.
• The outside back of the fixed seating is in one piece, with no gap.
• The head-rest of a fixed seating is with a manual mechanism. There could be a slight variation in the alignment with the electric headrest.
ALIGNEMENT OF INDIVIDUAL SEATS
Other then the difference with the fixed seating, your recliner furniture is composed of several moving elements: foot-rest, seat, back and head-rest. These individual parts can become slightly unaligned with regular use. It is possible to realign the leather/fabric by slightly pulling or pushing on the piece in question.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
The initial charge of the battery must be done for a period of 12 to 18 hours. Afterwards, 6 to 8 hours is sufficient. Rechargeable batteries will loose their efficiency with time. Even without using them, they will lose their charge. It is recommended to unplug your battery if you do not plan on using it for an extended period of time.
The length of time you battery stays charged will depend on the usage, whether or not you have a USB port and other factors. If you have one battery for two electric reclining seats and headrests, the battery will need to be recharged more frequently.
The battery pack is equipped with an on/off switch. When in the “on” position, it will emit a beeping sound to advise you that the battery needs to be charged. To eliminate the sound, place the switch to off.
FABRIC AND LEATHER
All of our models are available in fabric and leather. The comfort will remain the same regardless of the material/leather used because all other materials are the same. The appearance however can be slightly different. In leather, there may be many decorative double-stitched seams in order to use the best parts of the hide and add an elegant look. In fabrics, these double stitched are removed because the weave of the fabric can make certain seams crooked and not straight.
PLEATS
Within the first month is use, it is perfectly normal for some pleating to appear on the seats and backs of our furniture. Depending on the model, certain seats and backs have a tendency to show more pleating. The leathers we use are high end and natural hides therefore stretching is completely normal, as well as are variations of the grain and slight natural scaring on the hide. On the areas of the furniture that gets the most use (normally the seats and backs) the leather will stretch and create pleats easier. This is completely normal. It is possible to smooth out the pleats by sliding your hand over the leather.
On reclining seats, different pleats may form in comparison to the fixed seating. With regular use, the leather will soften and the pleats will fade and become uniform.
Fabric does not react like leather. It molds to the shape of the sofa, hugging its curves and unevenness. The areas of the sofa that absorb the most weight (mainly the seats and backs) can cause the foam to loose a bit of resistance and the fabric will mold the form the cushion.

DACRON PILLOWS
Several of our models are made with dacron and/or feather pillows in the back cushions and foam and/or dacron seats for maximum comfort. It is normal that over time and with regular use, pleats and hollowness can form.
RUBBING SOUND
A rubbing sound can happen when you use the reclining mechanism in your sofa.
Because there can be many reasons for this, before requesting a service technician, it is important to verify the following:
-Was there any liquid (juice, sofa drink, wine, etc.) that was spilled between the seat cushions or arms creating a sticky surface on the leather.
-If the temperature is very warm and humid (heat wave)
-Regular use can also cause the rubbing sound.
In all cases, the problem can be easily solved,
-Wipe down the area with a damp cloth between the seat and arm or the 2 seat cushions, depending on your situation.
-Apply alcohol-free hand cream to the area, this will remove the sound.
If, afterwards, the sound persists, then we will proceed with a service call.
LEATHER
All of our leathers are produced in a tannery In Italy. We use full grain leather, meaning the top part of the skin that has not been sanded or buffed. The entire sofa in made with 100% leather. The animals are exposed to many different types of environmental elements.
Natural full grain leather will proudly show the marks and scars the animal obtained during its life. It is normal for some of these marks to show on your sofa, not affecting the quality of the leather, to show it authenticity.
These natural hides are produced in a way that does not alter their natural characteristics. Scars, grain variations, wrinkles, stretch marks and variations in color will show that our leathers are absolutely natural and of high value.
BOVIN LEATHER, AN AUTHENTIC LEATHER
The BOVIN leather (cancelled) is a natural leather that emphasizes all the natural characteristics of the animal. Scars, stretch marks, insect bites, variation of grain and color are all visible and completely normal for this type of leather.
During the dye process, a light coat of wax is applied to the hide to conserve these natural marks, however this addition makes the hide more sensitive to sebum and the natural oils in our body and to friction.
You will also notice a discoloration at the edges, seams and places most stressed by use. This will give your furniture an old-fashioned appearance. This process can happen gradually or rapidly depending on the type of seams you have and is completely normal.
It is important to choose the style of furniture according to the leather.
SERVICE
For all after sales service, it is important to contact your retailers after sales service department. They will then contact our after sales service department. They will confirm with you what procedures to follow and what documentation you will need to furnish.
Before placing a service call, you must always:
- Verify that all wiring is properly connected. Often in transport or with usage, certain connections can become partially or completely unplugged.
- Unplug the transformer from the wall, wait 5 minutes then plug it back in. Most often this will solve the problem.
- Please take pictures of your furniture including the piece and surface where you suspect a defect.
- Please prepare a description of the problem giving as much detail as possible.

Keep it clean - Dust and vacuum often, using a crevice tool in seams.
For weekly dusting, use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water and wipe area gently.
Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Although leather is resistant to fading, direct prolonged exposure to the sun will cause any material to fade.
Keep leather furniture at least 12" away from radiators and other heat sources. Avoiding intense heat will help to prevent the leather from drying and possibly cracking.
Clean spills quickly. Just as with any upholstery, leather can become stained if spills are not cleaned up immediatly. If spills do occur, attend to them quickly - remembering to blot, not rub, the stain.
Use a solution of a drop of mild soap and distilled water on a slightly dampened cloth or sponge, working up a foam to clean.
Avoid excessive rubbing with a cloth. Blot any remaining soap residue with a clean cloth dampened only with clear distilled water. Blot until dry, repeating as necessary.
Never use a household cleaner, chemical product or soap to clean leather has this could damage the finish.
Contact a professional leather cleaning service for more difficult stains. -

Vacuuming and turning cushions, if reversible will help fabrics keep their color and shape.
Light stains on leather can be removed with a humid cloth and soft soap (no rubbing, detergent or oily substance). For more important stains, consult your dealer or call professional leather cleaner.
These guarantees are for parts only. Transport and labor charges will be paid by Via Furniture for 1 year.
All guarantees for parts are valid as long as the parts are available. Via Furniture cannot be held responsible if a part (ex: mechanism) has been discontinued by our supplier and no longer available.
Lifetime warrantee: All frames, made from dried hardwood, wood and metal legs, stitching, springs and moving mechanisms when subjected to normal usage.
Five-Year warrantee: All leathers. Under normal usage, they will outlast this warrantee by far. However, damages caused by burns, cuts, scratches by animals ,rings, nails, clothing, discoloration by exposure to direct sunlight or heating sources, damages and discoloration caused by oily hair or perspiration, as well as improper cleaning, are not covered. Light changes to the color are normal. Variations in grain and color, natural marks and small scars are natural characteristics of a high quality leather. Because of it’s nature, full grain leathers have a tendency to stretch therefore causing pleating to the seats and backs. This is absolutely normal and not a defect.
This guarantee is null and void if a treatment of any kind has been done to any part of the furniture, leather, or fabric as we cannot certify the quality of the product used in the treatment. If a part of your leather becomes defective, Via Furniture, as per our discretion, will touch-up or replace the affected area at no cost with the color closest to your leather. Over time, the grain and color of your leather will change, therefore a slight variation is to be expected.
Three-Year Warrantee: Workmanship and filling materials, such as high density polyurethane foam, subjected to normal usage.
Two-Year Warrantee: Electric motors on reclining models.
One-Year Warrantee: Electric parts (transformer, buttons and batteries (if applicable), release cables) on reclining models.
One-Year Warrantee: ll fabrics selected by Via and subjected to normal usage. Pilling on some fabrics is a characteristic of the structure of the fibers and is considered normal. The restrictions covering leather also apply to fabric.
This guarantee does not include mechanisms that are bent as this is not a manufacturer defect.
Any minor cracking or squeaking noise from the metal mechanisms or wood frames after 1 year of use is normal and therefore not covered by our warranty.
Preventive maintenance for mechanisms:
To prevent mechanism from making noise, you can apply white grease in the form of a spray, to all moving parts. This is not a necessity but is very good for the mechanisms.
It is the client’s responsibility to protect their flooring. Via will not be held responsible for damages or scratches caused by furniture.
Should a problem develop, the customer will process his claim through the dealer where he purchased his furniture and the latter will determine with Via the proper course of action.
